  5. Dear Netters,
  6. Many people have asked on the net about converting, Word, Pagemaker, 
  7. Wordperfect, and IBM-MAC compatibilities.  I recentally asked MacLink/PC what 
  8. are its new translation formats for version 7.0.  Remember all codes, fonts, 
  9. styles, and graphics are preserved when you translate from program to program. 
  10.  Also, all you need is a Din Serial port on your Mac to connect with an RS 232 
  11. 9 or 25 pin IBM serial port (i.e. no SuperDrive is necessary to run 
  12. MacLink/PC if you use the cables and terminal emulation).  Dayna's DosMounter 
  13. 3.01 is also included.
  14. I recentally got the letter in response from MacLink/PC saying they have 
  15. expanded their compatibilities.  Below is a list only of the most recent 
  16. software compatibility additions (August 1992).  They also are compatible
  17.  with earlier versions of the same software.

  20. by DataViz.  It may contain inaccurate statements.  All the software below are 
  21. registered trademarks of their respective companies.  This is a for your 
  22. information only message.  I sincerely apologize if this message offends 
  23. anyone's need to keep only Mac terms on the net.  However, this software 
  24. exhibits something which the other guys didn't want us to know about.  
  25. Compatibility exists between most still (not animated) formats of software in 
  26. the MAC-PC-MAC world.  The Sun formats are still compatible (using System 7), 
  27. and all the previous translations available have stayed the same.  At least 
  28. according to the list they gave me.  I have not tested this beyond WordPerfect 
  29. PC- WriteNow and WordPerfect Mac-WriteNow.  Also I have linked my Mac with a 
  30. Radio Shack PC compatible word processor using the cables, to convert the 
  31. files to WriteNow.  Quattro 4.0 converts easily to WKS and therefore easily to 
  32. DBF through the Mac and Superdrive - this was also successfully done by me.

  35. the -ed partition on this page.  -> (arrows) indicate which way the 
  36. translation will work, in most cases it works both ways.
